EDDIE: Lead Guitar – Back Vocals
Eddie Colmenares is regarded as one of the band’s most versatile musicians. He’s played various instruments including the tambourine, maracas, trumpet, saxophone, drums and finally the guitar. He adds to Eyeshine, guitar licks that are greatly influenced by Heavy and Modern rock styles.
He was born in the small town of Abilene, Texas, to a family of musicians. Eddie experienced growing up in many different locations. His family was constantly relocated for his fathers work. Which made settling down and growing up a bit too hard for Eddie. He found solace in playing soccer and set out to enroll in select soccer clubs for 6 months in Mexico City, when he was still just 14. Eddie decided then to become a soccer player but as the year came to an end, Eddie once again moved with his family to Oklahoma. This new home left Eddie feeling alone and distracted. To keep himself busy he joined a pick up game of soccer, a game that left him with a broken ankle and a shattered dream. With nothing else to turn to, he shut himself in his room, picked up the guitar and slowly started developing his musical craft. This quickly grew into an obsession. He continued for years, letting the guitar speak for emotions he would typically conceal. Eddie soon realized who he was going to become and sought out to become a full-fledged musician and faced the music scene head on when he made his move to Los Angeles in 2003.
Eddie’s experiences and emotions manifest themselves into guitar riffs, delivering the final touches to complete Eyeshine.
